How We Live the Mission
We create tools and opportunities that turn adversity into empowerment.
Empowering communities to write their own story
The Next Chapter is a nonprofit bringing social-emotional learning (SEL) and self-empowerment to communities through guided journals and storytelling. We help students, young adults, and organizations explore emotions, build resilience, and find their voice — one journal at a time.
How We Achieve Our Mission
Journals for Communities
Our guided journals are designed for individuals, schools, colleges, treatment centers, and organizations.
We make social-emotional tools accessible to all through simple giving models:
-
Buy One, Give One: Buy a journal for yourself, and one is donated to a student or community member in need.
-
Sponsor a Group: Fund a classroom or group of 25 free journals.
-
Speaking Engagements: When Rebecca speaks at a school or college, part of the fee funds 25 journals for students.
Every purchase, donation, or sponsored group directly supports communities with tools for reflection, emotional growth, and resilience.
Speaking from Experience
Founder Rebecca Silverzweig shares her story of surviving mental health challenges and rebuilding life — not as a doctor, but as someone who has lived it.
Her talks inspire, open conversations, and directly fund journals for communities, putting tools into the hands of the people who need them most.

Our Belief
Healing and growth should be accessible to everyone. Through journals and storytelling, we give communities the tools to reflect, connect, and discover that there’s always a next chapter waiting.
